The Darby Law Group, P.A. was founded on October 1, 2009 by Ben H. Darby Jr. and his son, Timothy B. Darby.
Ben H. Darby, Jr. was born and raised in Columbia, Missouri. He received his bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Missouri in 1969 and his juris doctor degree from the University of Florida in 1972. Mr. Darby has been practicing in Lakeland, Florida since 1972. His areas of practice include elder law, estate planning, guardianship, probate, Medicaid planning, and local government law.
Mr. Darby is a member of the Elder Law Section of the Florida Bar, the Real Property, Probate and Trust Law Section of the Florida Bar, the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys (NAELA), and the Academy of Florida Elder Law Attorneys (AFELA). Ben and his wife Sadie have been married for 49 years, and they have one child, Timothy B. Darby, whose profile appears below.

Timothy B. Darby was born and raised in Lakeland, Florida. He received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Florida with a double major in political science and criminology in 2004, and his juris doctor degree from the Florida Coastal School of Law in 2008.
Tim joined his father in the practice of law on October 1, 2009, and they formed the Darby Law Group, P.A. His areas of practice include elder law, estate planning, guardianship, probate, Medicaid planning and asset protection, and local government law.
Tim is a member of the Elder Law Section of the Florida Bar, the Academy of Florida Elder Law Attorneys (AFELA), and the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys (NAELA).
Tim married his high school sweetheart Brittany in 2006 and they have two sons Riley (11) and Jack (7).
